Please follow the instructions in the readme.txt file to install them. There are two functions for you to use. HDFINFO will help you browse the file and extract the attribute values. HDFREAD will read the data from the data set. There is online help for both functions. As I mentioned, I downloaded a file (named 199701h09ed-gdm_hdf) from the ftp site. Below is a diary of my MATLAB session I performed to look at the file and import the Sea Surface Temperature data. Please send me any feedback or problems that you have using these functions.
