R/V Oceanus, Voyage #461 (OC461) 13 May 2010 - 17 May 2010 The research objectives are to collect as many Soutar boxcores as possible of a ~1600 m deep site and, if time, a few at the Mud Patch (80 m). The MC800 multicorer will be used as back-up. Planned scientific activities include Soutar boxcoring and CTD water casts to collect bottom water. The operations area will be at the shelf and slope south of Martha's Vineyard at Lat/Lon: 39° 51.4′ N / 69° 12.4′ W at a depth range of 80 / 2000 meters.
