Seasave V7 is an entirely new version of Seasave. - V7 Versions < 7.10 were Beta releases. - V7 Versions 7.10 and later are the official (non-Beta) releases. Improvements over the previous Windows versions include: 1. More robust data acquisition / increased stability with a new architecture for data acquisition. Seasave V7 is actually 2 applications -- Seasave.exe automatically launches SeasaveAcq.exe when data acquisition is commanded to start, and both programs run simultaneously on the same computer, communicating via TCP/IP sockets. 2. Easier-to-use and more intuitive user interface. 3. Support for transmission of data to a remote computer over TCP/IP, and remote bottle firing via TCP/IP. 4. Better graphics, including the ability to have different plot colors for downcast and upcast. 5. An unlimited number of displays can be active on the desktop at once (within the limitations of your computer's resources). Displays can be added, deleted, and modified without interrupting data acquisition. 6. Output from an SBE 9plus CTD integrated with an SBE 11plus Deck Unit is now saved as a .hex file (was previously saved as a binary .dat file). 7. Support for pressure, altimeter, and bottom contact switch alarms in the computer running SEASAVE. Support for the SBE 911, 911e, and 31 is not available in Seasave V7. Note: SBE 911 and 911e are very old versions of the 911plus, which is supported. To install the software (7_* is the version number): 1. Install SeasoftV7_*.exe. Note: The default directory for installation of SEASAVE V7 (C:\Program Files\Sea-Bird\SeasaveV7) is different from earlier versions of Seasave for Windows, so it will not overwrite an existing version of Seasave on your computer.
